第2页:How-to Play Music During a PresentationMusic can be played directly from a CD or from files already on your hard drive.
If you’re playing music directly from a CD, insert the disk into your CD-ROM.
Open your PowerPoint presentation to the slide that you want to start your music.
Click Insert ?Movies and Sounds ? Play CD Audio Track.
If playing music from a file already on your hard drive, click Insert ?Movies and Sounds ? Sound from File).

Click on OK
A dialog box will pop-up asking if you want to manually control the audio or if you want Microsoft to automatically start your sound.
- Clicking “Yes” will play the selected tracks automatically, when the appropriate slide displays.
- Clicking “No” will require you to click the CD icon located on the slide to hear your music.
第4页:How-to Play Music During a PresentationA CD Icon will appear if you added sound directly from a CD. A speaker icon will appear if you added music from a file directly off of your hard drive.
If you selected manual control of your audio, double click the icon to hear your music. To stop the music, click on the icon again and press the ‘Delete’ key.
If you selected automated control of your audio, PowerPoint will start your music when the slide is reached.
第5页:How-to Play Music During a PresentationTo play music for multiple slides, click on the music icon (either the CD or the speaker).
Click on Slide Show ? Custom Animation.
The custom animation task pane will appear on the right side of the screen. Choose the audio file that you wish to hear on several slides and click on the drop down arrow to the right of that file.
Click Effect Options.

Look in the ‘Stop Playing’ section to select the length of slides you wish to hear your music selection.
Click OK to complete request.
第7页:Adding a Recorded SoundAudio files are not the only multimedia files that can be added to a PowerPoint presentation. Adding a sound you recorded is useful if you need to included the thoughts of others who cannot attend your presentation. However, you will need a computer with the capability to record sound to perform this function.
第8页:Adding a Recorded SoundClick on the slide you want to add sound.
Click Insert ? Movies and Sounds ? Record Sound.
When the ‘Record Sound” dialog box appears, assign a name to your audio file.
To begin recording, start your sound device or click on and begin speaking.
When finished, close your sound device or click on to stop recording.
Clicking on will allow you to hear what was just recorded.
If you are satisfied with your audio, click OK to add the sound.
第9页:Recorded SoundsA speaker icon ( ) will now be displayed on your slide.
To play the sound, double click on the speaker icon.
To remove the sound from your presentation, click on the speaker icon and hit the ‘delete’ key.
第10页:Why Narrate a Slideshow?Narration is ideal for slide shows that will be presented to multiple audiences or to audiences who are unable to physically attend your presentation.
Narration ensures that consistent information is presented to every audience and reduces the possibility of leaving out information.
Awkward pauses can be avoided which distract your audience.
第11页:How-to Narrate a Presentation?Step 1: Choose what device will record your sounds (ex., microphone, CD player, etc.).
Step 2: Change your slide show view to ‘Slide Sorter’ by clicking on (bottom left of screen).
Step 3: Click on the slide that you want to start your narration.
Step 4: Click Slide Show ? Record Narration.
第12页:How-to Narrate a PresentationAdvance preparation and rehearsal is always helpful before recording your narration. Another helpful tip is to prepare a script. This will allow you to remember everything you want to say and eliminate distractions to your audience.
To set/check your microphone capabilities, click SET MICROPHONE LEVEL. Then click on OK to perform a microphone check.
Step 5: To start recording click OK
第13页:How-to Narrate a PresentationTo advance to the next slide in your presentation, click on the current slide or press the spacebar.
If you need to pause your recording, right click on the slide you are speaking to (a pop-up menu will appear) and select Pause Narration.
To begin recording again, repeat the previous step, except select Resume Narration.
When you reach the end of the slide show, a dialog box will appear. The dialog box will prompt your to save the slide timings with your narration.
- If you select “Save”, PowerPoint will automatically advance your slideshow based on the length of narration.
- If you select “Don’t Save”, you will be responsible for advancing the slideshow to match the narration.
